I love chia seeds. They are so healthy and good for you. I make chia seed pudding at night and put it in the fridge so I have a no cook breakfast in the morning. It's very practical. I decided to try this brand because I love chia seeds and because the box said that they give back to the community from each product purchased and I like that philosophy. I'm sorry to say I would not purchase from them ever again and don't suggest you do either.In order to open this container you have to puncture a hole at the top and then it has a spinning thing that slides open where the chia seeds come out leaving a big pouring hole. I would describe the opening much like the bigger opening on the lid for spices or salt but without the flip top cover. The opening is about a teaspoon size I would say and then the spin thing is supposed to go over it to either cover or open it. I punctured my container with my fingers which was not easy, twisted the spin top open, flipped it upside down and poured it into my pudding. The spin part of the top fell off of the container and right into my pudding. It was really upsetting at the time. I had to throw out the pudding because I didn't feel confident with the cleanliness of the top falling in there. Furthermore, the rest of the chia seeds had to be transferred to a different container because there was now no way to close it without the spin top cover.I decided I would write to the company and let them know what happened and sent in pictures. They do not have a phone number so you can non call them. I waited for over a week and did not hear back. I wrote a second time telling them I did not get a response the first time and asking them to please package their items better. In response, someone from the company (who did not give their name) e-mailed me back and circled my picture where the top was broken and they told me that "the top portion is not in the photos" that I sent and advised me to "not cut into the top with sharp objects". I replied back to them that I opened the container with my fingers AND that I did not take a picture of the top part of the lid because it fell into my pudding which I had explained in my first message. I never got a response back and it's been a week. Blaming the customer for faulty packaging definitely lost them this customer. I've never experienced such poor customer service.There are other brands of Chia seeds you can buy. I suggest buying the ones that come in a bag. They sell them at Whole Foods and a bunch of other options on Amazon. I've never had any problems with those. Chia seeds are expensive and also a mess to clean up since they are so small so you want a container that will hold them correctly. Don't buy this brand because the packaging is horrible and their customer service is also subpar. It's really nice that they give back to their community but if they don't care about their customers I can't support them. I did not buy my chia seeds from Amazon otherwise I would have definitely returned it but since I bought it during the pandemic at the grocery store I got stuck paying for this defective product. Never again.
