TLDR: Spectacular feeder. Get it!I have two of these, one from my local birdfeed store, the other I bought from Amazon, see below. My (strictly indoor) cats love it! It keeps them entertained all day. They never seem to bore of it.As an avid birder, I love it too! I have never before gotten so close to live birds— it’s amazing. I sit within a foot of them! Fill it with quality birdseed and enjoy the show. I get chickadees, titmice, goldfinches, house finches, nuthatches, cardinals, downies, and even an occasional red-bellied woodpecker! The birds can see me and my cats on the other side of the glass, but they quickly figured out that we can’t touch them. The only time they seem to spook is when one of us (usually one of my cats) suddenly moves. I know they can see us inside, because if the feeder is empty and titmice see me in the room, they try to hover in the air in front of the window — trying to get my attention?! How cute is that! It’s happened enough times that I know it’s not a fluke. With the suction cups provided, the feeders hang securely on the window. I have mine stuck on the middle of two big windows, and an added bonus is that most squirrels can’t get to it! I say “most” because one night I looked out and saw a flying squirrel sitting on the seed tray munching on the leftovers. Having never seen one up close, that was very exciting! Gray and red squirrels (daytime squirrels) have never gotten to it.I’ve had the feeders for about a month, and I’ve only once had a feeder fall off the window. That was one of the nights I saw a flying squirrel onboard. When I decided to purchase a second one of these feeders but was unable to get to my local birdfeed store, I looked on Amazon and this listing showed the lowest price for it. I had the same question that other people posted - is this the genuine item or a knock off? I was suspicious given that the listing did not show the manufacturer’s box, and the genuine item is US made and the listing said made in China. I went ahead planning to return it if not satisfied. I’m happy to report that this listing is for the “real thing.” The Aspects Cafe Feeder box it came in lists the item as US-made, and both the box and feeder are identical to the one I purchased locally.Even though you can find cheaper versions of window-style bird feeders on Amazon, I strongly recommend this one over those. It has features that in the end will save you money:1. Three super heavy-duty suction cups. With normal use, this feeder (and the seed in it) isn’t going to fall off your window. The package includes a few helpful tips for using the suction cups - like rubbing them with your fingers before use and “burping” any air out of them once installed (like you would for Tupperware).2. It has a hopper (i.e. seed reservoir) that distributes the seed as the birds eat it. So your seed supply is protected from precipitation and wind prior to use.3. The seed tray has small holes in it. They’re small enough so that your feed won’t drop on the ground, but any liquid will drain from the tray. Thar’s essential if you live in an area that frequently gets precipitation.4. Really easy to remove, fill, and replace the hopper.5. Only a couple parts to clean. Could not be easier![FYI - Black oil sunflower seeds will attract more birds to your feeder than any other seed, period. I only use shelled (aka “hulled”) seed because I don’t want to have the mess from shells to cleanup. Yes, it is more expensive than unshelled, but everything you buy, the birds eat. Think of it like buying meat - you pay more for boneless, but you can eat all of it. I also toss in some peanut halves which the woodpeckers really like.]This feeder is a winner. Highly recommend! We've had this feeder up since the beginning of November, and even through record snowfall in the Northeast, it's still going strong. I just wanted to leave a few notes about this quality product.1) The Aspects Window Café has two commonsense features that as far as I can tell, are rare among window feeders. The first is that the hopper that holds the seeds can be removed, filled, replaced without having to remove the suction cups from the window. This feature is INDISPENSABLE. It would be so much more work if one had to remove the suction cups, then reposition them every time a refill was necessary. I honestly don't understand why more window feeders don't have this as part of their design. Now that I've refilled the Aspects Café a number of times, I can't imagine the hassle things would be otherwise.2) The other feature of the Window Café that seems to be unique are the tiny holes in its base. Again, I don't know why more feeders don't have this. (I've read a number of customer reviews under other brands where they talk about buying special drill bits to do this themselves.) Yes, there is a sloped roof that helps prevent rain and snow from getting in the landing area. But of course, that's not going to work 100% of the time. Just a mild gust of wind to accompany a drizzle (let alone a record snow season) and those seeds are going to be waterlogged. Not so with the Aspects Café. We've had storms where snow has accumulated over the seeds (the birds managed to find the seeds beneath), but it eventually melted and drained, with the seeds no worse for the wear.3) The suction cups are unbelievable. As I said, they're still firmly attached after months of record snowfall. (Meanwhile, the protected, hermetically sealed environment of my car can't make the GPS stay attached to the inside of a windshield for more than a couple days at a time.)When you first install the feeder, the instructions say to adhere the cups to the window by pushing down on them using circular motions with a finger. That's a little tricky considering the cups are right beneath the plastic wall they're attached to. I found using the rounded end of a butter knife works well.4) Despite what some have claimed, cardinals will *not* fit in this thing. We've had a few such birds--cardinals, doves, etc--make the rare attempt at feeding at it. But as soon as they make their approach it becomes abundantly clear to both them and us that there's no way it's going to happen. (Still, it's kind of fun to even just glimpse them for a moment. It's also fun to witness the rare times when these behemoths successfully scrunch up their bodies enough to fit in for some awkward mealtime.) This is strictly for smaller birds like sparrows and chickadees. Having said that, you're still going to see quite a variety of birds.5) You see those tabs at the bottom of the feeder? You might be initially confused, as I was, if they're meant to face toward the window or away. (The pictures on the packaging were slightly unclear about this, in my opinion.) Those tabs are meant to go *toward* the window. (This is important to note, since the only assembly required is attaching that bottom part to the hopper yourself. And yes, it can be snapped on the wrong way.) You might wonder if those tabs are meant to be used as perches for the birds (thus, meant to face outward), but no. They're meant to rest against the window. I assume this helps ensure the feeder stays parallel to the window as much as possible, thus alleviating stress on the suction cups.6) Fight, fight, fight!: Yes, with this Aspects Window Café you'll be able to enjoy the benign, pleasant sight of cute birds--Mother Nature's little miracles--peacefully enjoying some sustenance close up. Having said that, after you've had this feeder up for a while, you'll realize that there's a slightly more perverse side benefit: the occasional squabble amongst birds. Don't get me wrong. I'm not talking about some horrific back-alley cockfighting type of thing. I just mean some bouts of arguing and chest puffing (quite a sight to see when one of the chest-puffers is doing so while fluttering in mid-air) that never last more than a couple seconds. You see, when there's more than a few birds gathered around, some of them aren't always content to politely wait their turn. That's when decorum ends and the fun begins. And if there's anything more entertaining than watching harmless territorial bickering and dustups, it's watching harmless territorial bickering and dustups between small fuzzy creatures. (Hence, the popularity of most reality TV series.)Really like these bird feeders. Suction power is really good. We have pigeons who try to jump on top of them and hang on the edge. Hasn't fallen down yet. Works very well for small birds. The cardinal in our neighborhood has a bit of a hard time with it.Great window feeder. Very robust. Easy to attach, suction is excellent. Food doesn’t get very wet with the rain, bit damp a few times. Have had it on my 1st floor flat window for about a month, no problems. Small great tits & blue tits found it within a few days. Highly recommend thisAmazing. Mostly chickadees visit, and consume the birdseed very fast. It took about a week for them to get brave. Now they aren't even deterred by our 5 cats. I live in Northern BC.Just follow the instructions and it will stay on your window. Use black sunflower seeds to lure the birds! This is an excellent bird feeder. Very good quality. We can't get any birds to come though. Not a fault of the feeder. We have a larger feeder in the back yard and perhaps they don't want to come so close to the house. The suggestion to put some seed on the window ledge would never work. The squirrels would be there in a flash!purchased this for my parents who are mostly house bound and they love watching the birds...easy to install and refill through an open window.I have had two other window feeders and to date this is by far my favourite. Easy to put up (and stays up), easy to fill and easy to view the birds making use of it.
