Nick Cave has been a part of my world for years now, and I've enjoyed all of his albums, but until this record, only The Boatman's Call stood out as something that really got under my skin. From the moment I saw the glorious cover, I knew this record would be a favorite. The entire aesthetic of this record is all so appealing to me. The sound is unique and so clear and present. It almost sounds like a perfect live performance. Since getting the record, I've seen the band once and listened to many of these songs in live form on the record store day release. The new incarnations have done nothing but increase my love of these songs.
