I JUST RECEIVED MY ORDER OF TRADER JOE'S ROASTED, UNSALTED SUNFLOWER SEED KERNALS. FOR A TWO POUND QUANTITY THE BAGS NEED TO HAVE A LONGER "BEST BUY" DATE. MY PURCHASE HAS A DATE OF 12-2-22. THIS IS NOT NEARLY LONG ENOUGH FOR THIS QUANTITY OF SEEDS. GOOD GRIEF!! I USE THEM ON SALADS, AS A SNACK, COOK THEM IN MUSELI FOR BREAKFAST, SPRINKLE ON YOGURT, ADD THEM TO WAFFLE AND MUFFIN MIX FOR A NUTTY CRUNCH, BUT I CANNOT USE THIS MANY IN JUST OVER TWO MONTHS. I HAVE TO KEEP THEM IN THE FRIDGE SO THEY WON'T GO RANCID, I MIGHT TRY FREEZING SOME TO SEE HOW THAT WORKS. JUST BEWARE IF YOU PLAN TO ORDER THIS PRODUCT.Great crunchy flavor without the salt.Looks good but took almost 2 weeks to arrive.Whether you prefer a handful or to sprinkle on salad, the sunflower seeds are delicious. No taking off shells! Better than popcorn! With two packs that stay fresh.like the no salt option...great on saladsThe sunflower seeds taste fine. Both bags had small cracks at some seams so seeds were leaking out. I found less expensive seeds at my local store so I’ll try those next time.always had complete trust in TJ products, never have been disappointed. However, something was definitely wrong with these sunflower seeds. Lots of birds, various species, visit my backyard daily, all day. They were fed suet cakes, wild bird seeds and roasted unsalted peanuts. Wanting to offer something different I thought they would like, afterall most of the species enjoy nuts. The birds would note eat these sunflower seeds, after trying one of the bags, noticing how it just sat there for a few days, I discarded the second bag. I don't know what the problem was, either they were stale, the seller stored them in improper environment, I'll never know. I should have listened to other reviewers, it was my trust in TJ that made me purchase. Never again, don't know what was wrong with these seeds, I realized they could cause more harm than delight for the birds. I'll stay with roasted unsalted peanuts from a local source. Peanuts must be roasted and unsalted for birds, they can be difficult to find, I was so glad to find the above. As I said, there's more to feeding birds, have to be concerned about their health and these birds were smart, would not go near the sunflower seeds.I sprinkle the seeds on my breakfast cereal (Grape Nuts). They add to the crunchiness and give a bit of a "tang" to the breakfast I have eaten every day since I was a small child. Adding some sliced banana and (of course) milk makes this very filling and tasty. Keeps me happy till lunch even if lunch is late.
